OLE Links - Manual
We are a small office and utilize Excel, linked into AutoCad for our schedules. We have played with Table Links and don't want to pursue that. The Excel links work great, but if one person is in Excel and another person tries to open a DWG file that has many Excel tables linked, it gives an annoying repeating warning about Read Only and takes forever to open the file. That said, I found that if we switch the update all the OLEs from Automatic to Manual with OLELINKS, it works very cleanly, and then we can manually update only when necessary. Unfortunately, that puts an extra step of remembering to switch all the OLEs to Manual which seems to be the default. Is there any hidden Toggle/Switch that I could set so the Default becomes to Link Manual instead of Auto? Here is the link to the AutoDesk description:
Thanks,
Brian

Hello @Anonymous,
There is no switch on/off, but there is a dialog box where you select all links & at once to have your links update manually you can follow these steps:
- Click Edit menu > OLE Links.
- In the Links dialog box, select the links you want to update.
- Click Update Now.
