Drawing semi-freezes
Occasionally my drawing will partially freeze (for lack of a better description) where I can still save it, exit block editor, select objects, and delete objects... But I cannot perform any commands such as bedit, or move, or line, etc. If I double click on a block, it will highlight the block as if I single clicked it, but it will not open the block editor. If I select some geometry, I cannot un-select it. Clarification: I can unselect it by telling autocad to do something with it, such as copy or mirror or move. THEN it is all instantly unselected. (this is my quick test to see if this quirk has turned up again)
The only way I have found to get around this is to save the drawing (thankfully), close it, then reopen it. Sometimes the quirk reoccurs several hours later, or sometimes it reoccurs as soon as one or two commands later. But once it happens for a drawing, it is bound to happen again and again. Some days are worse than others.
I'm not losing any work, just time and trains of thought while I deal with it over and over -for the last several years. It's a drag.
Any suggestions?
(windows 10, Autocad LT 2020)
EDIT: I have been able to open the Edit-Block-In-Place, but it still won't let me do anything. In the command window, when it wouldn't let me move the geometry (in edit-block-in-place), it replied something about a locked layer. ...But all my layers are unlocked.
I'll insert a screencast if I can figure out how...

Hi,
ok, can you look to sysvar DBLCLKEDIT?
If that does not help too: please login with another Windows user account to your system and try your issues to reproduce ... if then AutoCAD is working well you might reset the AutoCAD profile in your original Windows account as described >>>here<<<.

Are you monitoring any system variables? And if so, I presume you are reacting to any notifications you receive? If something is working right one moment and then changes, we just need to figure out what is changing.

DBLCLKEDIT is ON.
I'm finally asking this question because the drawing I'm working on (trying to work on) is semi-frozen as soon as I re-open it. (the last straw)
Just now, I prepared to restart autocad by closing down some drawings and now things seem to be working. I have never seen it self-correct without closing and reopening a drawing ...until now. Why would multiple drawings open cause something like this?

Hi,
>> Why would multiple drawings open cause something like this?
Memory already eaten up?
Restarting AutoCAD is something I do at least every 2-3 hours, just to get the memory clean and also get a better performance back.

Yikes, restarting ever couple of hours sounds like a pain in the neck. That might be the answer, but my opinion of Autodesk products would plummet drastically.
The freezing is back -in multiple drawings-, so I'm working on restarting autocad again.

That's a Windows issue (memory handling), not an AutoCAD one!

For this kind of issue the 1st thing is to check your AutoCAD LT version's system requirements. See the link below.

Check and double check.
This has been going on for several years over several computers, including the current new one (3ghz i7, 16gb, win10, ...). But it keeps happening.
Maybe when I get that terrabyte of ram...

Hi,
>> Maybe when I get that terrabyte of ram...
Sometimes it's the amount of memory, but there exists also a type of fragmentation in the memory which only gets cleaned up when you close the application that had access and used a bigger amount of memory.
