Multiples of same xref, change layer visibility model space
I have an xref that consists of three floor plans stacked on each other so I can use layers to view each floor plan at once. I'm doing elevations in a new file (elevation.dwg) and using the xref to draw them, so I have a bunch of copies of the same xref in model space in that new file.
I'm hoping to change the visibility settings of each xref within the elevation.dwg model space, so that I can do elevations of each floor using the same xref file without constantly changing the global xref settings every time I want to work on a new elevation.
I saw somewhere that model space viewports could accomplish this, but I can't find a way to specify visibility per model space viewport. Any input would be much appreciated!

I'm not a fan of model space viewports... I would make 3 copies of your xref; one for each floor and give them unique names. Xref the 3 files into your drawing and you will be able to manipulate layer color that way using your current work flow.

it's own unique layer. From there turn on/off (freeze/thaw).
