3D Seashell
Hi everybody,
I need to draw a 3D model of a seashell based on a 3D scan of a granite ornament.
I've tried a sweep, but I keep getting error codes because the path's startpoint has a differtent Z-value then the endpoint. The profile of the sweep also should become smaller.
Anybody have any idea's how to go about this?
I don't have a license for Inventor, only Revit and Autocad.
I've sent some screenshots to give you an idea of the project.
Thanks

Hello @Anonymous,
It is likely an issue with the orientation of the object & the UCS. Try creating the object following this process & UCS set up beforehand then conduct the sweep.

Create your spiral path in WCS (World Coordinate System).
Create your full size seashell cross section closed profile in the Front UCS.
COPY the full size cross section then scale it down by .75 or whatever you wish.
Return to WCS and MOVE you full size profile to the outer start of spiral and your smaller profile to the inner end of spiral.
LOFT those along the spiral as your path. They will loft to one another uniformly.

Hey,
Thank you all for the advice. I managed to create the seashell in Revit with a swept blend.
A little tweaking in autocad and finished!!
