AutoCAD 2019 Demolition Plans - need a refresher please
Hello all, sorry for the silly question but I cannot seem to find a good answer and its been 8-10 years since I have touched AutoCAD so I need a refresher on how to work a few things.
I am working on a "retrofit" so I am working off old drawings (someone else was the prior draftsman) and I cannot remember how to work DEMO plans correctly.
The "base plan" is drawn in model space, and then an xref into the DEMO plan where I will be working this retrofit. A viewport has been set up on the sheet to show our plan view in paperspace.
My question is, how do I set half of this xref file to a DEMO layer and half to an EXISTING layer, but still keep the original layer properties from the original project intact? I don't want to destroy the original approved and sealed project (obviously), but I just absolutely cannot remember how to accomplish this because its been so long since I have worked CAD (been on CREO for years) that my brain won't wrap around it.
File structure is as follows:
ORIGINAL PACKAGE>"BASE PLAN"
BASE PLAN is xref to RETROFIT PACKAGE sheet AD01 of NEW RETROFIT PACKAGE
How do I keep the original package looking as is, while allowing the retro sheet to take the DEMO and EXISTING layer properties?
Thank you and again, sorry for the stupid questions, I just cannot find an answer and have been searching for two hours now.
Have a great rest of your week!
Mike
