AutoCAD logo gone from files and will not open

I have just down loaded AutoCAD 2019 after uninstalling AutoCAD LT 2019. My AutoCAD LT files now have no AutoCAD logo, there is only an empty white box. The files will now not open when clicked. They will open if I drag and drop them onto the AutoCAD icon on the desktop. I have checked in “properties” that the file should be opened by “AutoCAD Launcher”. I have removed the AutoCAD LT Launcher from the registry and left the “AutoCAD 2019 Launcher.”

Following internet advice on uninstalling AutoCad 2019 LT, I removed all the temporary files from the registry.

Any advice will be much appreciated as I have already spent 2 days on this !!

So... have you tried a repair reinstall of AutoCAD2019 in those two days?

In Windows Control Panel, Default Apps by File Type is the .dwg file extension linked to AutoCAD or AutoCAD DWG Launcher?

If you right-click on a file and go to 'Open with...' is AutoCAD in the options given there? You should be able to set the default programme in the same dialog.open with.JPG
