OSNAP and moving objects by distance - ACAD2010

I have encountered specific issue which i don't remember to had in the past, but it could be older version than ACAD 2010. I workarounded this by disabling and enabling OSNAP till now but it started to piss me off.

Example: I have two lines placed in parallel orientation among them (left line and right line). I have text object which is moved from right line to the base point of this object by distance 27.15. I would like to move it to 28.0 distance.

So (having OSNAP enabled) i choose text object, use MOVE command, select object by basepoint, move object to the right line and choose "FROM" snap mode (RMB) then select left line with perpendicular handle (the handle is displaying so i am sure the object will be moved in straight line to the left) and type 28. The result is - the object returns to 27.15.

If i disable OSNAP before i type 28 then the object will be moved correctly. With OSNAP enabled it won't work.

If distance be much longer, for example 80 then it will work with OSNAP or without. But on shorter distances the ACAD just ignores the move operation. Is this some variable setting issue? I spotted it mainly on bigger drawings.

Hi,

if you clear all object snap modes from OSNAP command , and when OSNAP ( F3 ) is ON . NOW does the MOVE command problem still exist ?

Thats's normal if you are working with osnapcoords=0, default is =2 and in practise you should set it to =1.

(Ignore running osnaps by commandline input).

Was it your problem or is still the problem with osnapcoords=1 (or 2) ?

Thank You. To be precise it is OSNAPCOORD (without S on the end).

But OSNAPCOORD set to 1 or 2 is making another issue - I can't use OSNAP in ZOOM/WND which is more convenient than using RMB to specific what snap mode i am interested.
