Alt+030 not recognized in AutoCAD 2019

In the past when i wanted to void a dimension override so that no dimension showed up all i had to do was type in the code, Alt+030 in the text override field and my dimension would disappear allowing me to manipulate the dimension string or notation accordingly.   Now in 2019 it seems Alt+030 is not recognized when i type it in.  Other alt codes such as Alt+0216 and Alt+0177 work, but only after i type them out in the command line and then cut and paste into the text override field.   (i tried the same with the Alt+030 code but that one still gets ignored)   Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Which font file (an font type) did that used to work in, and which font are you trying to do that in now?

I've never heard of such a practice and I've been using and teaching AutoCAD for about 30 years.  If you don't want the default measurement, just select the measurement field while editing the dimension, either delete it or overtype it, and type what you want.  If the text override (for dimension properties in properties palette), just delete the <> characters.  Alt sequences should be reserved for special characters, not for nothing.

@pendean Hi.  I am using Arial font.

@dbroad i use it all the time, apart from the override default strings e.g.   <>\X.   Its a way to void out the given dimension measurement so that it still leaves the true measurement on but allows me to point with a leader into that spot and type out text horizontally.  Sometimes space is compromised with a vertical dim string.  This Alt+030 also works well in REVIT programs.

I've never heard of using Alt+030 before (I just tried it, and I couldn't get it to work between 2015-2019).  I typically use Alt+255 to do what you are doing, but simply deleting the dimension text and simply hitting the spacebar once also works

@murray-clack thank you!  In REVIT the Alt+030 is the code i use to void the dimension text and in the past i have been able to get it to work in AutoCAD as well but it just stopped working after AutoCAD 2019 was installed.  The hitting the space bar after deleting the txt in the override field did the trick :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa: Thank you!
