AutoCad 2018/Windows 10 - Zoom Window Jumping after Hatch or Block Edit

Running AutoCad2018 on Windows 10

Two part issue:
We are experiencing issues in model space.  If we are working in a particular area and then need to A) Edit a block or B) add hatch, AutoCAD will jump the view to A) 0,0 or B) to some random place far away from where we are working.

I have tried using "Z", "P" (zoom pervious) though these commands have to entered several times before returning to the location we were working in.

Has anyone found a solution that allows us to stay zoomed into the area we were working, prior to the Hatch command or post block editing?

Second Issue:
After editing a block not only is the screen re-centered to 0,0 we are also experiencing poor performance after any adjustments made to a block.  The only solution is to purge the job, close AutoCAD and Restart.  This sometimes works.

Both conditions are time consuming work arounds and not solutions.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
