I am currently traveling and can't devote more time to this at present. If you want to try to salvage what you can, you can open the DXF in Notepad and try to  remove the last "entity" from the file and then add an end of file that looks like this:

ENDSEC
0
EOF

  If you are willing to share the file publicly, I can try to upload it here for you if it does not exceed file size restrictions.
