I feel your pain. A few years ago, I switched to one page setup: DWG to PDF.pc3

 

I print to ANSI D / PDF 99.99% of everything I plot. With that PDF file, you can push it to any printer you want.

 

I used to try to create Page Setups for the different machines in our office, but when the printer network name changed or we got some new equipment... we were screwed and back at square one.

 

If you REALLY want to do something closer to what you're asking, the best guess I have is setting up a typical plot and saving it as a PC3 file instead of a Page Setup.
