What's a feature control frame?
Rob
Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Can you extract a few "problem" FCF from a drawing and upload that drawing here, that we can reproduce ?

I have attached the dwg containing the problems.
Extract a few samples will change the format from R13 to a later one.

The text of the broken FCF refers to text style ISO-SS which uses the font file iso-ss.shx. This font is not a standard AutoCAD font. And because missed substituted with another font if you open in AutoCAD.
To solve the problem you need the "iso-ss.shx" font file from your old installation.
If you can't get, but you have prints from these drawings you can create your own "iso-ss.shx" or better write a small macro which replaces the "special format characters" with the ones from the AutoCAD fonts (i.e. amgdt.shx).

Hi Markus,
Thanks for the research so far; unfortunately all hardcopies (printouts and PDF) are already unreadable (the draftsman who made the copies years ago, was probably not able to recover them at that time too or totally missed the messing up).
I do not have access to an old installation to recover the font (which apparently is a Microstation font); Google gives me no results either, so i guess i got stuck at this point. Unless someone has the font somewhere stored.

Microstation ... okay, at the moment I'm out of my office, but I think it is possible, that I have Microstation fonts from an old version. Ich will check this evening and let you know ...

Hi Markus,
Have you been able to dig up something?

I have not yet found the iso-ss.shx font. Many other fonts from Microstation ... but I have not yet finished searching through all my disks.
I have also took a look to the Bentley community and from a few symbols I know how they should display in AutoCAD. So if we could "decode" all symbols we can run through the drawing(s) and replace with the correct symbols for AutoCAD.
regards
Markus
