Copy and paste from one drawing to another, causing lines to move randomly.

I am trying to copy and paste a drawing from one file to another. If I select the objects, ctrl+alt+C and paste it into the same model space, there are no issues. When I try to paste the exact same thing into a different drawing/file's model space, it moves my lines(pipes) randomly up and to the right. The background(building floor plan) stays the same, but my pipes move. If I move them back into place, the sizes are off. It's so strange. I'll attach screenshots.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

i try what you do and i didn't notice any shifted items . would you please attache here the other CAD file that some pipes are shifted ?  also you have to know that there is a 3d elements in your design !!!

The file was created as an export from a 3d fire sprinkler program, so that makes sense that 3d elements are there. Is there a way to flatten it or convert it to 2d?

Here is the other file

Please don't judge it too harshly, the file is a bit of a mess..

This is the issue ... when i clean all the model and purge the dwg and detach all those xrefs in your dwg i found that pasting is normal now ( see attached dwg file ) .

from your  firsy post >> If I select the objects, ctrl+alt+C and paste it into the same model space <<

there is NO such a command maybe you mean some thing else .

Thank you for taking the time to help me out. I was wrong about the ctrl+alt+C command, I meant ctrl+shift+C, whoops....
