Hi @Anonymous,
Welcome to the Autodesk Community, and thank you for posting your question here in the AutoCAD Architecture forum!
Did you save this DXF file in AutoCAD Architecture 2010 or AutoCAD 2010?
Could you post the file here so that we can try to help you with it directly?
You might also try the suggestions in this article and those linked at the bottom of it:

Hello @Victoria.Studley and thank you for replying so soon
it was AutoCAD 2010 actually
i have tried opening it up using a text editor (Microsoft word, notepad, word pad ...) but they all bugged and wouldn't open, so i eventually had to force their closure, and the links in the bottom didn't work either (page not found)
is there anything else i could try?
I have read that the problem could be fixed by opening the file in a different AutoCAD version, 2006 for example, and saving it in another format or something but i don't have another version.
would it be okay if i attach the file so maybe you could take a look at it?

Hi @Anonymous,
I've moved your post over to the AutoCAD forum, since you're not working in AutoCAD Architecture.
Can you upload the file to a hosting service like Dropbox, Googe Drive, OneDrive, Box, etc.? You should then be able to share the link here for us to view the file.

HI @Anonymous,
It does look your web browser has opened the DXF instead of uploading it. I am using your other link to download the file and I will see if I can get this repaired for you.

Hi @Anonymous,
I opened your DXF in Notepad (it took a while) and I went to the end of the file. There is no EOF (End of FILE mark) or even an End of Section. This indicates that the data never completed writing to the file.
I used a search to find the first Section just before the end of the file. I then deleted all of that last incomplete section. This removed a whole 25 MB of data. I added an EOF but I still didn't have any luck in importing this file into AutoCAD. I have another specialist looking at the file but I am not too hopeful.
Do you still have the original file it was created from or the BAK?

Hi @Anonymous,
Thanks for the BAK file. I renamed the BAK to DXF and then opened the file in AutoCAD 2018. I ran AUDIT and it found an enormous number of errors. I also ran PURGE and -PU>Regapps to further clean up the file.
Perhaps this file will be better than the one that had the bad DXF.
