Problem with VIEWSECTION: Excess lines

Hi,

AutoCAD draws excess lines when i create a section view using the command VIEWSECTION.

I've created a sample model to illustrate the problem.

It the first picture there is a view drawn by AutoCAD.

In the second picture there is a correct view.

How it can be solved?

Hi @Anonymous,

I haven't tried this in a very long time so please forgive me if it takes a few tries.  I created a model similar to your's and then created the views. For the section view I changed the Depth to a smaller value and those lines disappeared.

^yes.

Also, if your example is typical of your usage, I would just use the 'Full' section instead of the 'Offset' section. However, if you typically have features that your section line goes to, then nevermind.

Unfortunately, It isn't the solution as you get the section, which is longer that the base view.

Hi @Anonymous,

In my example, the section is just displayed at a different scale. It is the same size as the original base.

Oh, I am sorry. I will check your solution in AutoCAD as soon as possible.

I think it doesn't solve my problem. As i should use the orthogonal projection view type. (You use the normal one, if i'm not mistaken). Changing the the depth doesn't affect anything in my case.

Hi @Anonymous,

Is it possible to share your drawing with me? I would like to see how it is behaving differently than my own.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the file.  Since I don't work in this discipline I reached out to another specialist. He told me that it is normal to see those jog lines as they indicate a jog has been made to creat the view. I hate the fact that one can't control how they look or turn them off easily.  Removing the jog does remove the lines as they should but I understand that you are looking to hide them.
