When I am doing an erase and I do a selection window the objects I have selected turn grey. This also occurs when I do a fillet, the lines that will no longer be existing turn grey. Is there a way to turn off this feature. I do not like it and I don't recall it being like that in the past. Seems to have started in the last couple of days. Running AutoCAD 2018.

Thanks!
Due to background glare, I could barely see the objects to erase once I selected them.
The potential for erasing the wrong thing was very strong...
