Hello jdnichols7,

I'm going to lend you a hand!

I attach the file that you send, additionally there are other pieces that show more or less what I did, I made the mistake of not recording the process but I will teach you how to do it.

Your piece is not complex, however it is complicated by the number of vertices that remain as a result of the initial figure that you create to extrude; I recommend you use the smallest of segments possible.

I wanted to redraw on your model with lines and arcs, a polyline (always closed) to extrude it, thinking that the result would be softer.
Next, I tried to keep the top shape with a curvature, and finally the fillet.
The steak I wanted to make from 1 "yes, it's too much for the edges, but it was not really the problem.

When you type FILLET in the command bar, you can do things, select the vertex you want to do it to, indicate the radius, if you determine the radius is better first, then select the vertex, but, so that your fillet is even one of the vertices created for the extrinsic segments, that is, the complete edge and you already have many, it is easy to leave some loose or unsealed and ... error, the fillet has no result, so the importance of not having too many.

Now, based on my model that is next to yours and that already has fewer faces, I type the fillet (enter), I indicate radius of .5 (enter), I select a vertex of those that I want to be curved (enter), it presents me more options and I choose CHAIN that will allow me to choose in chain with less click and if one is missing I include it selecting it, and enter again.

I do not pretend to be the first, but try, is the method that will facilitate much more modeling.

3D model with much frequency and I had to lose a few hair trying to solve things like these until they work, if I am of help in something else ... I will be here.

Regards,

Johanna Esteban
