Failure while filleting an irregular 3D solid.

Hi there!  New to all of this so bear with me.  I'm having difficulty filleting an irregular 3D object.  I keep getting "Failure to perform blend.  Failure while filleting."  returned to me.  I have successfully filleted some of the edge.  Through reading online I see that, complexity and radius size can be an issue.  My question is how can I determine if my object is too complex?  Same question for the radius.

I have tried to lower the radius, I've gone all the way down to .01.  Which is nearly indiscernible.

Here's the console history of a failure.  It's not the only error code I've seen, but the most common.

Here's the full selection at a radius of 1 before the failure.

Here's the properties of the object.

A side question too if anyone can clear this up.  After the failure the edges do not return to their solid line.  They stay dashed like they are still selected.  Eventually they go back to normal, but I can't figure out why.  They are still selectable when I attempt again, but they do not glow before I select them.  Making things very difficult to retry.

Thanks to anyone that can shed any light on any of this.  I really enjoy learning this software and hope to learn more!
