@john.vellek thank you so much for your help. I need to decide which of my machines to use. Both can be upgraded to 16Gb of RAM. One is a 13"mid 2010 MacBook Pro 7,1 with a 2.4GHz Intel core 2 duo, 3MB of L2 cache and a 1.07 GHz bus. I also have a Late 2012 Mac Mini 6.2 with an Intel i7 quad core processor, 256KB L2 cache (per core), 6MB L3 cache & an Intel HD graphics 4000 chipset. I will use boot camp & can load any osx from El Capitan to High Sierra and Windows 9 or 10. I imagine that the mini would be the best candidate. If so how much of a performance hit would I take if I tried to use the laptop ? Would switching the hard drive to a SSD drive help much ?
