Scaling of PDF file in autocad 2017
Hi,
I have some PDF drawings which I have to convert into AutoCAD files. I am using AutoCAD 2017 pdfimport function. I tried scaling it to 25.4 factor but that also doesn't give me the accurate measurement. Please advise what to do?

Hi @Anonymous
You can use reference scale to get your drawing in the right measurements.
Type the command "scale" then select the whole drawing you wanna scale.
Then choose "Reference"
After that look for an edge in the drawing you know it's right measurement.
Select the two end points of ghat line and then it will ask you to enter it's new length.
Enter the new length and press enter.
I hope that helps.

Typically I keep the scale on the PDFimport dialog box at 1. The entiites either come in to scale or to the paper size of the PDF. That seems to vary depending on the type/date of your PDF and how it was created.
With newer PDF's that were created from AutoCAD - If there is just one viewport in the PDF page - the entiies come in scaled to the viewport scale.
If there are multpile viewports the entities seem to always come in to the paper size defined by the PDF (1:1 plottted page size). The multiple viewports can be scaled to the match the scale of the viewport (a bar scale is always nice to have.). For example I had a sheet that had 2 viewports, 1=50 and 1=100. That PDFimport came in scaled 1:1 to the page size (24 x 36). I just scaled up the two views - one at 50x and one at 100x.
That has been my experience - so far.
Older PDF's are not as friendly (images and other software will come in differently).
The prevoius post regarding scale/reference us a good way to scale as well.
FYI - There is a command in 2018 (maybe 2017) that can help recognize text that come in as lines. PDFSHXTEXT.
