Don't expect a college grad or anyone fresh out of CAD training to be productive. It takes lots of training to be productive. AutoCAD has over a thousand command or variables. Taking the class and not using it immediately after the course is completed, you loose some knowledge. Remember there is always a lag time for training. The more practice you do using AutoCAD, your proficiency goes up. We have hired numerous Interns and none of them are at productive speed when they got onboard. They too have to be acquainted with your company CAD procedure or manual, your system setup and documentation of your CAD blocks and other. it is paramount that a company establish a good On the Job Training (OJT) program supported with manuals and examples.
