Hi All,
I use Autocad for Network documentation and I am making a new block for a new Cisco switch we are using.
When I take a copy of an existing block, explode it, modify it by removing a few switchports and changing the model name, create a new block, and then "-WBLOCK" it... I get a new block but none of the editable attributes remain.
If I do this on Autocad 2015, works fine, but 2016 gives me this issue, can anyone help?

Hi,
>> When I take a copy of an existing block, explode it
Why exploding anything, why not editing the block in the block-editor? Then you have all attributes as in the original blockdefintion.
>> create a new block
Are the attributes valid after creating the block (before using _WBLOCK?)

Hi @Anonymous,
I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
Before you wblock your new block definition out of your drawing, does the block you just created have attributes that can be edited? I would like to see your drawing with the old and new blocks in it so I can help you to figure out what is not working properly.

Thank you guys, I ended up just using block editor rather than exploding it. never knew about the save block as function
Thanks a ton!
