In an existing file I was working on I needed to change the viewport layer from 0 to a layer named VP. To do this I selected the viewport on layer 0 picked Properties and made the change, I thought. The properties dialog did change the viewport to layer VP, but the Layer box now showed the viewport to be on no layers (the dialog was gray).
What I had to do to get this to work was select viewport then go to my layer dialog pull down and select the VP layer. At that point the layer box also showed the VP on a layer "VP".
Stranger part of all this is that when I recreated this on a new file. The Properties Dialog method did work. Can anyone explain what happened first time with the existing file?
I thought the Prop dialog controlled everything? or is there a switch/command somewhere that links these two together. Also this was discovered when some else tried to print using sheet-sets (a clue perhaps in what happened).
Thx

Hi @rochestersignal,
The only time I saw something similar to this Properties issue was when there was corruption in the file. I suggest trying Audit (or RecoverAll if there are Xrefs),Purge, -Purge>Regapps. If you would allow me to see the file that would be helpful too. Please attach the file to a post if you would like me to examine it in order to see if i can duplicate the problem and perhaps find a resolution for you.
