Hi All,
A sister company of ours has asked me to help them trouble-shoot a problem they're experiencing on computers that have Windows 10. Comparatively speaking, their computers running Windows 7 Pro (64bit) do not experience the same problem with the same drawings.
Their hardware/software is:
- AutoCAD 2015 SP2
- Intel i7-6700 @ 3.4 GHz
- 16 GB RAM
- 64bit OS
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 [Notice this is NOT the ...730M that is on the list of approved cards. The card in use is NOT on the list]
Their drawings are typically between 10-15MBs
They are saving to AutoCAD v2013
The problem is manifesting in several forms:
- Many "Fatal Errors" each day
- Excessively long regen and save times
- Long times to open files
One observation of mine: They put ALL the drawings of a project into ONE drawing file. And they are not using the paperspace tabs in what I believe is the traditional way - they just put all their separate drawing work (objects, dims, annots...) into separate PS tabs, without viewports to model space, so that an entire project is all contained in one drawing file of about 10-15MBs.
Any and all suggestions and comments are welcome.
TIA,
Sal
