Sweeping Closed Loop

Hey All,

I'm trying to sweep a simple zigzag pattern around a rectangle (for a duct). It works if the rectangle isn't closed (one side missing) but I can not get this to work otherwise.

Can someone please explain why this happens? I've attached the .dwg. Using AutoCAD 2018.

Thanks for the help.

So this is the best I can get (explode the rectangle and join only three lines).

I would suggest creating a non closed polyline where there is a very small gap between the start and the end point.

If you put the start/end at the middle of the bottom then the 'line' will be there.

This does create the image you want.
