Leica Disto transfer software to AutoCAD 2017
I do existing condition surveys using Leica Disto D2 laser along with AutoCAD (2017). I currently sketch my field documents on graph paper. I would like to purchase a new Disto with bluetooth that will transfer distances directly to AutoCAD. What interface do I need to make this happen? Does AutoCAD work with anything other than their own connectivity software . . . I haven't been able to get that to work on my laptop. Any suggestions as to what setup would work?
Thanks for the help.

Complications of your local setup aside, you can use the software for your device :https://lasers.leica-geosystems.com/leica-disto-app-directory/disto-transfer-wlan-version-511
It looks like autocad 2017 is supported. I might contact the makers of this plugin if you have any problems and see if they can help. from the looks of things this should be a fairly simple connection.

You can actually do exactly what you describe with the AutoCAD mobile app. You can connect a Leica DISTO to your phone or tablet using bluetooth and use it to update or add line work. Open the DWG in the mobile app, connect the DISTO, and start measuring.

It is my impression that the AutoCAD mobile app would not receive .dxf XYZ files? There is a video of someone using an Auto CAD application to put those points right into model space. I use KeyCreator and have no need for AutoCAD, but would love to be able to recreate 3D space in real time. Is there an affordable level of AutoCAD that would enable me to do this? The attraction of real time is the ability to edit and confirm on site.
