Thank you for coming back with such a detailed response to my post its much appreciated, I yes I understand where you're coming from with your explanation; use different viewports to zoom in on parts of my drawing, would I then be able to dimension them up without putting dimensions on the model though? is there a way to do this in model space? I'll attach an example of one I did the hard way. Basically I didn't want to dimension the connection part of my frame on the main plan view as they would be too zoomed out to define properly, so what I did was copy the plan view then drew a rectangle round the part I wanted to detail, then trimmed everything back to the edges of my box, following that I scaled it up 3:1 and dimensioned up my holes etc., I then had to override the dimension text as it was 3x too big, I cant help thinking I went the hard way doing this, would your suggested method allow me to get a similar outcome?
