Drawing Objects When DIMLFAC < 1
I've been searching for hours, and have not been able to find a solution in forums, hopefully someone knows.
A colleague created an autocad file, and set it up so that it prints on 11x17 paper. I'm used to the model space being 1:1 when drawing objects. For instance, if the units are set to inches, I enter (length: 60) and (width: 60) to get a 60"x60" rectangle.
What I finally realized is that dimlfac is set to 0.125 (1/8) for the model space and layout. So to get a 60" rectangle, I have to enter the units as 480. This is driving me nuts. Is this how most do it, or is there a way to restore it so that the model space is a 1:1 ratio instead of 1:8?

DIMLFAC should have no effect on a model space object's size ... unless you are creating some annotative component.
How are you determining the "size" of the object?? Because DIMLFAC will alter DIMENSIONS when they are placed

Thanks for the response!
I've been drawing the object, then adding the dimension annotation. So I create it as 480", and then it reduces it by 1/8 and annotates the dimension as 60". So maybe you're right, the model might be correct, but if I want the annotation to come out correctly I have to create the object at 8x size just to have it annotate correctly?
I think the original creator did it so that everything prints correctly, but it makes it a real pain to add anything. I'm still new to autocad, is there a better way to create the model and still have it print correctly on 11x17? Is there any way to easily rescale this drawing?
