I guess the global tools like _PURGE were already done?
Otherwise delete objects from your file or copy the objects to different files and use _XREF to show them as like in one file.
In general: when a drawing needs that space you can't say reduce the size without deleting something. It's like having a car with 1800Kg and you say "reduce the weight to 200Kg" ==> that car will not be functional any more.

Hi @Anonymous,
I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
Audit, Purge, and -Purge>Regapps is usually a great start to reducing file size. However, with all the items you are embedding into the file, I suggest that drawing setup is more likely the issue that needs your attention. Putting all of those files into a single AutoCAD drawing is not a great idea. If you have any drawing errors or corruption you are likely to lose most if not all of the data.
I suggest that you consider breaking the files up into more manageable pieces that perhaps use xrefs to link drawing data and datalinks to connect tables to Excel spreadsheets.
If you would like to share your file for me to examine, I am happy to send you an upload location.
Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

if the file was created using verticals (proxies). Keyword
search in this forum "Purge Dictionary Items" or "PDI".
This will remove *unnecessary* dictionary items that are
not "ACAD_" based (the user must enter keywords to
execute).

I recommend to visit Autodesk App store and then search Purge.
Then You can see a lot of plug-in about the purge.
Read manual and use it that you want!.
https://apps.autodesk.com/All/en/List/Search?query=purge&isAppSearch=True
I have been using Drawing purge from the app store.
I think that is useful to clean drawing and easy to use.
