As another avenue of research.
IF you ASSUME the problem is not in the files and ASSUME that it's not your computer updates you can test if it's in the software configuration. An easy way to this is to create a new profile on your computer and launch your autocad. This will give you a semi-clean install.  If that helps we can talk about how to cleanup your acad variables. (compare your old ones to the ones that work. Figure out which switch did this to you.
