Inserting images without external reference keeping PNG transparency
Hello AutoCAD Forum friends,
I have an issue, I inserted a PNG image into my AutoCAD file so I can use the "Background Transparency" option, but when I try to move this file to other PC the images disappear. I understand that I need to copy the image from paint so this doesn't disappear, but I want to keep the background transparecy. Is there anyway to do that? Please, I need your help.
Thanks!

Dear Spectre24:
The images in AutoCAD are external references, then you must save to the DWG all the PNG so that you can open it on the other computer without problems.
Save everything in the same folder and you will not have problems opening it on any computer.
recommend you publish the file with the option "e-transmit" that collects all the necessary information so that the file can be opened anytime & anywhere.
i leave a screen shot that might help you.
Best regards

To do not disappear PGN or JPG image, They need to set correct save path when open drawing at the other PC.
Try studying eTransmit, it can keep transparency setting and save an image with drawing in the one folder.

HI,
>> ...but I want to keep the background transparecy. Is there anyway to do that? <<
if i understand your need right ... yes you can by doing the follow:
- make a new layer with a transparency value (0-90) from Layer command.
- set TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY value = 1 .
- attach your image over the new layer with transparency. (it supposed now to see transparent image)
- you can control Background Transparency from proprieties dialog (Ctrl+1) and after select the image.
hope that what you asking for...

Please go through the video, you will find the solution. If you have any custom image which is not available on web, just upload it on web, I have tried by uploading it on facebook and copy from there.
