Thanks for your reply.
We had issues with the shx fonts creating 'comments' in the pdfs, we overcame this issue by ensuring that all fonts were Arial.
However, another issue has now become apparent, the pdf is showing that Arial MT fonts have been captured. This Arial MT font doesn't seem to exist anywhere and this is what is causing issues in our web based viewer.
In our drawing system, pdfs are viewed in webcentre, ie not as an adobe pdf. This webviewer rasterizes the pdfs and throws up dynamic marks.
My understanding is that if I check convert text to geometry in the dwg to pdf settings, no embedded fonts should be present in the pdf as all the text will have been converted to geometry.
This option worked without issue in 2014, yet in 2016 the geometry options still seems to be embedding fonts!
