Autocad 2018 exporting and importing files.

Hi,

Have made a couple of modes in Autocad 2017 and they ca be successfully imported into 3ds max 2016 . On installing Autocad 2018 same models when saved in 2018 version won,t import into 3ds Max 2016 ?  Also i found that Fbx export does not want to work either in Autocad 2018?

Hi,

It depends on how you import the AutoCAD model into 3DS-Max, if you use the DWG-file then no, AutoCAD 2018 uses a new dwg file format and that new format is not known to 3DS-Max 2016.

You might try command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and chose the DWG2013 format .. .that should be working well with 3DS-Max 2016.

What means "does not work" ... what do you do and what is the result, which messages do you get, ...?

Go back to AutoCAD2017 or upgrade to 3DSMAX2018 if you want the best exchange options between the two programs.
