Licence transfer to a new computer
I was gifted a copy of Autocad (standalone 2014 version) a while back and have been using it on my old computer, I am now looking to upgrade to a new computer and want to transfer this over. I have read about the LTU but not sure if I can use it to transfer this as I'm not the original licence holder and unfortunately I am no longer in contact with the person who I got this from. Can I just use any account to do the transfer or do I need the original licences account to do this?

Hi @Anonymous,
You can transfer the license from one computer to another but there are a few things I would check before doing that:
-version: if the license is up to three versions back from the most update one, you can find the download links in our Virtual Agent here. You can directly download the version you need and then activate it with serial number and product key or userID and password (depending on which license you are using)
-system requirements: if the license is older than three versions back, you won't find a download link on the virtual agent but you can still try to get in touch with our customer service -although no guarantee that they can provide you with the download links if the version is too old. If this is the case, I would suggest that you also check the system requirements for your specific product.

Thanks for that, I have the original box with the software on an autodesk USB which I used originally when I installed this, along with the serial number and product key. So does this mean I can just install from the usb and use the product and serial codes to activate?
