Hi, All,
I am using AutoCAD 2017 with a CAD work station with a NVidia Quadro K3100M Graphics card, after the recent Windows 10 update I discovered that I could not edit blocks, I contacted an old mate and he suggested that the Graphics Acceleration might be the problem and to try turning Hardware Acceleration off as a temporary fix. This has worked however if I leave it off the drawing graphics are jumpy and curves etc faceted. So every time i want to edit (or write) a block I have to turn off the Hardware Acceleration.(GRAPHICSCONFIG). Can anybody offer any light on this and offer some kind of fix.

Hi @Anonymous,
I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
I looked on nVidia's site and found this to be the current driver for your graphics card. You might try it to see if it improves your performance and block editing issue.
Have you also updated your AutoCAD for hotfixes and updates from your account page or Desktop App?
Please post your results.
Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi I installed the latest driver as you suggested, It has made no difference at all,
If I try to open a block I get nothing a blank block editor if I turn off the Hardware accelerator then I get the block in the editor.
What are hot fixes and which one would you recommend.

Hi @Anonymous,
You can find the Service Pack and Hotfixes here with descriptions on what they are for. You should also check your Autodesk Desktop App or go into your Account Management page to see if you have other updates available.
While you pursue that can you also type GRAPHICSCONFIG and send me a screenshot of the window that pops up?
Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi,
>> If I try to open a block I get nothing a blank block editor
Just to make sure: is that specific to one drawing or does that also happen when you create a new drawing, draw one line, create a block from that line and open the blockeditor at the end of the block creation.
Also an option: reset settings to default >>>click<<<

I have just opened a new drawing, drew 1 line, made it a block, and then opened the block nothing in the block editor, closed the block editor, turned off the Hardware Acceleration, re-opened the block and there it is in the editor as usual, so to answer your question, yes every drawing, every block, every time, unless the hardware acceleration is turned off.

Sorry I haven’t a clue, of even where to find that info. I opened the NVidia Control panel The window says
Version 377.11
Quado K3100M
In the left hand panel are tasks.
3D settings:- Adjust image settings with preview, Manage 3D settings or Set physX configuration.
Display:- Change resolution, Adjust desktop colour settings, Rotate display, View HDCP status, Set up digital audio, Adjust desktop size and position & Set up multiple displays.
Video:- Adjust video colour settings & Adjust video image settings.
Workstation:- View System Topology & Set up mosaic
Where would I find a FXAA Graphic Feature

Hello from France
1) Please look at the Image ...
It's a French Windows but I am sure you will find the same on your US/English Windows !?
2) What is your current resolution in pixels (horizontal x Vertical) ?
3) Have you tried to run with: HQGEOM = 0 ?
4) And maybe : LINEFADING & LINESMOOTHING = ZERO ?
Regards, Patrice

Have you seen/tried my suggestion of resetting the AutoCAD profile to default?

Hi,
>> I have re-set AutoCad Back to default settings and the problem seems to have gone away
Great to know you have it solved now!
>> So how do I get back to my previous settings
In the same way you modified the user-interface after your first start.
What ever modifications you did just repeat them.
