AutoCAD 2017 Won't use my dedicated graphic card
Hey,
I'm using AutoCAD 2017 with my laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad P40.
At the graphic performance options I noticed that under video card autocad is using my built in video card (Intel HD Graphics 520) instead of using my dedicated video card (Nvidia Quadro M500M).
I tried to set the correct video card at the Nvidia control panel, but it didn't help.
Is there any solution?
Thanks in advance,
Amit.

We run into this issue all the time here. We just disable the intel card in the BIOS and it forces autocad to run the Nvidia cad. Those other 2 articles did not help us although they might work in other situations.
Take a look at this forum post about it:

I guess it will solve the problem, but I don't want to completely disable my intel graphic card,
I mean, expect AutoCAD the computer manages to use them both correctly.
Looking for another solution only for AutoCAD and not the entire laptop.

Why would it matter if the Intel is disabled. Every other application for windows knows to pull the proper video card. Nothing else is using the Intel. So by disabling it you are doing no harm to anything else.
As Pendean said, There is no other solution. The only way to force autocad to use the higher end card is to flat out disable the Intel integrated card in the BIOS not in Device manager. Disabling it in Device manager doesn't do squat.
