Quick update:  The time on the engineering machines were out of sync with the server.  That problem has been resolved, but it did not affect the problems in any way.

-could you possibly elaborate how these security options could cause an issue that would have been present in ACAD 2012?

-we have checked all security levels and should have a clear path through our hardware and software firewalls to the internet barring something buried that we missed

 

As I mentioned above, I am an administrator on my machine and experienced all of the same hiccups at the same time as the other members of my department.

 

I have just begun using AutoCad 2017.  I will keep everyone updated as to how it works vs. 2012.

 

I'm beginning to get a sense that we have multiple issues layered that are manifesting in an old version of AutoCad...
