Edit coordinates of points on existing geometry

Hello Forum Members,

is there a facility to enable the selection and editing of point coordinates on an existing geometry. I know it is possible to query the coordinates of points on an existing geometry, but can these coordinates be edited directly?

It depends on what kind of objects.

I think my question was not clear enough. Let me rephrase:

If I draw a point, I know it is possible to edit the x,y,z coordinates of that point by just invoking the properties dialogue for that point and entering the new coordinates.

Now, if I draw a line, polyline, polygon, etc, is there a facility in AutoCAD that will enable me just select a point on that geometry and enter new coordinates for that point on the geometry?

Again ,it depends of the type of object, and the answer will not be the same if you consider a line or a polyline for example.

For a line you can directly change the start and endpoint coordinates in the properties dialog, fo a polyline, you can change the current vertex and edit its coordinates in the properties.

Thank you very much, AUGIfr. This pretty much answers my question satisfactorily. But just a quick one, I realise that for a polyline there is no option in the properties dialogue to change the z coordinate of the current vertex. Is this correct?

No there is'nt and there is a reason ,you are talking about LW polylines (light weight polylines), their vertexes are all on the same plane, contrary to 3D polylines...
