The age old dilemma...
Paper Space or Model Space.
Where do text and dimensions belong?
Everyone has their own opinions and so have I.
I believe graphics including xrefs belong in model space, and text, dimensions, section marks, drawing borders etc. belongs on paper space. No need for scaling and linetype scaling this way.
Any thoughts?
I believe the real issue is about setting up drawing scale & your company drawing standard while I agree that "Everyone has their own opinions and so have I". In other words, you may have to be in a position of CAD manager & instruct your colleagues/sub-contractors to follow your standard.
In my career I have seen a lot of users switching MS & PS all time for modifying/checking their drawings when they think the texts, dimensions and so on belong to PS.
IMO if you can setup your drawing scale properly, you will love to stay in MS. And create your own drawing scale tool (i.e. AutoLisp routine) will make your life a lot easier.
