I am running AutoCAD 2014 LT and ever since I installed 2016 Civils 3D (trial), something has been playing up whenever I'm in 3D-mode. As you can see on the attached image, my cursor seem to be in one place, while the line above it is where it actually (invisibly) is. It gets worse the more I zoom in and goes away when I switch to top view.
I get the same issue in both AutoCAD 2014 LT and 2016 Civils 3D (trial). Tried turning of hardware acceleration and line smoothing, but it didn't do the trick either. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

SW Isometric view in LT or 3D in Civils 3D.
Your reply gave me an idea, seems to be the actual file that's the problem? Attached it.

Hi,
Did you manage to fix this problem - I have the same (or very similar) issue.
Thanks

Hi @richard.clarke,
Did you try turning off Hardware Acceleration using GRAPHICSCONFIG? Or, like the OP do you think the problem is in a specific file? If so, please attach it so I can take a look for you.

Thanks for replying.
I think the issue was caused by some coordinate system mismatch.
I resolved it by using the command UCS WORLD, and the problem went away.
I have to admit I'm not exactly sure why this problem existed, and why it is now fixed.
Regards
Rich

Hi @Anonymous,
I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
In addition to the suggestions in this thread, you might also check for extreme coordinates. If your model is sitting miles away from 0,0 it might cause this anomalous behavior.

I have the same issue with AutoCAD MEP 2017, graphic acceleration - off, large coordinate system far from 0,0,0 this only happens when I zoom in to grab a grip to adjust. frustrating.

Mike

Hey there,
I'm experiencing the same issue, and am indeed working far from 0,0,0 but this is intentional; I'm working in project coordinates, which dictates where the origin should be. Are there any plans to fix this any time soon, as it's pretty limiting?
Thanks!
