If you have more than a handful of toolbars on your screen, there is no advantage at all. Nada. Zip. It's even worse when you have them wrapped around the 4 edges of the drawing screen.

Can you be a little less vague?

I've got over 200 discrete tools surrounding my drawing area in my "Classic" workspace.  They never move therefore I can pretty much pick them without even looking  (muscle memory)  Collectively, virtually everything I need for working in 2D and/or 3D is there without changing a thing.  What I don't have a toolbar/toolbutton for I type as a command/shortcut.  All together, the toolbars still take up less total space than an expanded Ribbon.  200+  tools always available and at my fingertips...  what exactly is your objection to that?

"Worse"?  Worse than what?  "Worse" in what way?
