DWG to PDF with Merge Lines on and wipeouts - 2016 Not working
When plotting using DWG to PDF with Merge Control on Wipeouts are not working in 2016. The lines show through the wipeouts.
However the same file in 2014 works correctly using the same .pc3 file.

Attached are images showing two identical plots with same settings having lines merge ON.
And these are "Wipeouts" not Background mask. The whole reason for using the wipeouts for the last 15 years was to have the ability to have lines merge ON.

After further research using a 3rd party pdf driver such as nuance PDF creator, the results are as expected from previous versions of DWG to PDF.
So it definately is the DWG to PDF.pc3 files for 2016. All the extra, (may I say "junk") that has been added to the new DWG to PDF has caused more problems than it's worth.

I'm seeing no improvement to this for 2017 either.
The long drawn out process just to get a pdf created correctly for companies that use lines merge with wipeouts.
1. Plot to DWF.
2. Convert DWF to a flattened tiff using Acroplot.
3. Then converting the tiff back to a PDF using Nuance or other 3rd party pdf converter.
Totally unacceptable when this technology had already worked in prior releases.

Can you not use the DWFs, just skip PDFs?
See below using R2017, SP1, wipeout (and MTEXT as a side test), PDF result attached, tell me what I did that you do not do, let's figure it out

Hmmm, I might've mispoke with the last one.
I just recently installed Civil 3D 2016 sp3 and now it seems to be working on mine as well.
The DWF's are used internally for my client. But when they send out files to their clients and/or contractors they flatten them so they open more efficiently. It's more of a customer service item on their end.
Thanks for looking at this.

It's posted there too..
But this comes down to the change in how Autodesk handles pdfs.
this is same file plotted in 2014...
