copy edges to region or solid

Hi everyone...this may sound like a dumb question but my brain just is not working right now.  I lost the original 2d drawing of a 3d solid I made and had to copy edges to get back to 2d.  Once modified, I can't get it back to recognizing the regions so I can extrude it again or press pull.  How do I get copied edges back to a format that will easily extrude?  Thanks in advance

Use SOLIDEDIT, FACE, COPY

Thanks for the answer but that's what I did to get the 2d image back for editing.  I then exploded the face so I could edit it.  Now I can't get it back in 3d form.  It's got to be a simple answer I just can't get there from here,

I guess I should have stated it more matter of fact.   How do I get from an exploded copied face back to a form that can be extruded?  That's what I really need.  Thanks and sorry for the confusion.
