Well that changes things! I had no idea I needed to save the .dwt as a .dwg somewhere else first, make the changes, then save that file back as a .dwt!
That alone however I do not believe solved it for me. I think I have it all fixed now but I noticed something strange happening when I was fixing it. For some reason, my model tab, and LAYOUT tab seemed to be linked properly but my PORTRAIT tab would not work. The PORTRAIT tab would stay in the wrong UCS orientation even when I typed in UCS--> World. So when I decided to command UCS--> Plan, it changed my PORTRAIT tabs UCS to the correct position but then my model and LAYOUT would get messed up and vice versa.
In my frustration i decided to delete the PORTRAIT tab, make a copy of my LAYOUT tab, and modify the page to be like the previous portrait tab. This actually seemed to fix the issue and now I've opened it a bunch of times even closing the program first, and it seems to work. I couldnt tell you what was happening but I think its all fixed now! I really appreciate the help!
