2017 Autocad crashes within a few minutes on my new surface pro 4 (i7 16gb 512)

2017 Autocad crashes within a few minutes on my new surface pro 4 (i7 16gb 512). Only just bought both but frustratingly, the program shuts down after a few minutes. Anyone had similar problems?

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Is it crashing in all drawings or just one? If just one, then try an AUDIT on the file.

I would also try turning off the Hardware Acceleration in GRAPHICSCONFIG to see if eliminates the crash. Do you see any error messages when this occurs?

Thanks for the response. Tried both, and it keeps crashing. I switched of the graphics acceleration but it continues to crash in all drawings! Even crashes when I opened the sample drawings provided by AutoCAD.

Hi @Anonymous,

I suspect that you have a corrupt install.

I would suggest a clean uninstall. Then run the Prerequisite Checker from here.

If you would like me to move this thread to Installation and Licensing please let me know.

Is R2017 fully patched and updated? It requires extra effort, it's not done on it's own with a regular install.

Thanks for the responses. I spoke with TMS my Cad supplier and after a bit of investigating, it turns out the virus software was causing the issue. So far so good, I have not a crash yet.

Thanks again

Which Antivirus was causing the conflict with AutoCAD?
