Adobe Acrobat Pro is the driver that enables generating PDF files at large page sizes. We use release 11.0.19 being the current version to generate PDF files from a number of applications.
The AutoCAD bug has been persistent across the last two Windows versions we've used; 64 bit versions of 7 & 10.
We've always used high resolution monitors - 3840x2160 currently, & 2560x1600 for 10 years prior to that.
I don't know whether this has any bearing on the described bug behaviour, but I'm aware that Autodesk has traditionally been very slow in officially supporting high resolution displays.
Anyway, this is all moot now that we've discovered that turning on the menu bar relocates the close file button from the drawing area to the end of the menu bar & the problem goes away.
IMHO placing ANY controls within the drawing area is an annoyance.
