Yes, that's correct.

 

Whenever new technology is build and used the time comes that the old technology will not be updated/further developed. It is too expensive to develop and test 2 different systems (in that case gui's) when the new system has the major number of users.

 

E.g. think about that:

20170129_2132.png vs. that     20170129_2136.png

 

I know that some users of the old gui will now come up with their arguments (more screenspace, faster click/command start, ...) but with every new version the ribbon gets more and more powerful and can have functionality you can't have with toolbars.

 

With AutoCAD we have the advantage to be (currently) in a position to use the old gui, even if we might do a bit of work ... other software vendors changed to ribbons without giving users a chance to change back. Keep that in mind :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:
