Point Cloud Color Stylization of portion

hi there,

hope someone has an iddea? i have a big point cloud with a big range in heights. right now i am trying to visual analyze the point cloud by analyzing the cloud via POINTCLOUDCOLORMAP. But i have to do it for just a portion of the point cloud, e.g. a clipped portion or a region.

is this possible at all? it seems like the changes i make in the POINTCLOUDCOLORMAP-Dialog apply to the whole point cloud.

am i right? does anyone have an idea or a Workaround? maybe in civil or map

cheers frederic

HI @Anonymous,

To the best of my knowledge it is sort of all or nothing. Let me reach out internally to see if I can find other options for you.

Hi @Anonymous,

While I look for answers, are you aware that you work with cropped Point Clouds? I didn't think this is what you were asking but it is an option.

unfortunatly it does not work for me! it would be to much effort to save the splitted/cropped surface: 2: in civil, Map, autoCAD 2017 the crop is not recognized

Hi @Anonymous,

I am still pondering this issue. Is it possible to break your point cloud file into smaller zones? Then you could do this on one zone at a time.

Hi,

>> But i have to do it for just a portion of the point cloud, e.g. a clipped portion or a region.

doesn't a simple uncheck of option "Apply to extents of point cloud" solve what you are looking for?

Then you can define the upper and lower elevation for gradient colorization.
