2 drawings opening when i open 1 not a new drawing

When i open a drawing Autocad will open 2 drawings not a blank one but one that i had drawn before anyone know how this happened and how to fix. It seems to happen on some of my drawing not all of them, like they are linked.

Hi,

Does this happen when you use OPEN command (Ctrl+O) or when you double click the CAD file? also try these two way and see if it's repeat.

Hi,
It happens when I double click on file from explorer or from open drawing in autocad it will open a drawing that I had open before somehow they are connected.

Hi @Anonymous,

Does it open the same drawing twice? or are they different drawings?

I would try a Reset Settings to Default to see if that helps.

You might also set a default template for QNEW in OPTIONS.

Hi
It opens up a separate drawing but is one that is from another project. Not the same drawing or a blank one.

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you tried the Reset I suggested previously?

Doe this happen when you try to open the same file as last time or is all files that also open a blank one too?

Do you already have the program open when you click on the file in explorer?

AutoCAD doesn't always load properly if you force it to open by clicking on a .dwg file...
