I can't get past the startup tab in AutoCAD 2016 Student version on Windows 8.1. I installed SP! and changed the display scaling to 100% I can only switch between Learn and Create on the Startup tab. Any Idea's? I have installed it on a laptop i7, 16gb, quadro FX1800m video.

Hi,
welcome @Anonymous.autodesk.com!
Create a new Windows user account, give that account admin permissions, login with that account to Windows, disconnect from network, turn off antivirus software (and other defending software, if you have any), if your screen resolution is higher then 1920x1080 then lower the resolution to this value ... and now start AutoCAD again, does it work now?

Thanks for the reply. No that did not help. Still the same. I also need to the the Task manager to close AutoCAD as the buttons don't work.

Hi,
did you get a window for activating the software or is AutoCAD already activated?
If not ... look to the task line and search for windows which might be hidden.
Another option could be to modify the start icon of AutoCAD on your desktop to start AutoCAD without hardware acceleration as described >>>here<<<.

Hey Alfred
AutoCAD is already activated. That other option didn't do anything. I was past the Start up tab before so I don't know why it just started doing this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled AutoCAD a few time and get the same thing.

Looks like I installed some software that AutoCAD didn't like. All is fine now. I uninstalled that software that I didn't need anyway. Thanks for the help.
